GoFileDrop for Gmail new features

We have just released a MAJOR upgrade for the Gmail version of GoFileDrop - here are the 4 new features:

1. Email to Google Docs

If you send an email with attachment(s) to:

The attachments will automatically be added to your Google Docs account.
This is a useful feature for quickly adding files to your Google Docs account via email, from devices such as iPhones with no native file upload support.

As a security measure - for this to work you need to send the email from the email address you use with GoFileDrop.

2. Embed GoFileDrop in your own website (no menu bar)

You can now embed GoFileDrop in any website with NO menu bar or any other clutter to distract from your website design.

To grab the code to embed your GoFileDrop uploader just login to GoFileDrop from the more menu in Google Apps and click on the "Embed GoFileDrop Code" tab - see screen shot below:

When you insert the HTML code in your website you will then just get a clean uploader as in the screen shot below.

3. Automated Sharing

We have just released some great features for automatically sharing files dropped in your GoFileDrop account.

Just login to GoFileDrop and open the "Security and Sharing" tab - see the screen shot below:

You can specify a Folder in Google Docs to which any files uploaded to GoFileDrop will automatically be added and / or specify an email address (which can also be a Google Group email) which will automatically be given edit access to uploaded files.

These features add powerful workflow functionality to GoFileDrop.

A use case scenario would be files uploaded to an Accountants GoFileDrop Application could be automatically filed and shared with the appropriate employees to work on new client files.

4. Sender can now enter a description of the dropped files
The person sending you files using your GoFileDrop page now has an optional Description field where they can enter a description for the files they are sending you. - see the screen shot below:

This new feature is now live on both standard and embedded GoFileDrop uploaders.

The description information is currently included with the email you receive when people send you files using GoFileDrop, in the near future the description will also be included in the description field on the actual file in Google Docs.
